Lemon Macaron is one of the best Macaron dishes that you can eat in Spring. It is made with a Shell which is almost like a waffle/biscuit and it is filled with different flavors.

Lemon Macaron is a dish that was invented in France and is considered as a luxury cuisine. It is mainly eaten in spring to say goodbye to the Winter and welcome the summer.

without any further ado, let us see what we need to do to make the perfect lemon macaron.

Ingredient List

The ingredient can be divided into two sectors, the base (or the biscuit) and the filling. Each of them will require their own sets of ingredients. These ingredients are given below:


  • Around 100 grams of flour
  • 150 grams of powdered sugar
  • One lemon
  • Egg whites from 3 large eggs
  • 55 gram of common sugar
  • Quarter teaspoon tartar cream
  • Food Coloring (optional)
  • A quarter teaspoon of lemon extract


  •  8 tbsp. of Unsalted Butter (softened)
  • One and a half cups of powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • Lemon Zest
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste
  • A quarter teaspoon of lemon extract


Just like the ingredient list, the preparation is also divided into two parts; The Base and The Filling. Both parts are explained separately below:


  • The first thing that you need to do is line two sheet of pans with parchment paper and prepare a pastry bag with a round trip. The alternative is to buy a pastry bag separately.
  • Using a food processer, pulse the powdered sugar, flour, and lemon zest into a fine powder. Then, add some bits of almond bits to the mixture.
  • Take an electric mixer and whisk the combination of egg whites, tartar cream, and sugar. Whisk it in medium-high speed for 5 minutes. Add your desired food coloring (optional) and lemon extract (compulsory) to the mixture.
  • Now add the dry ingredients to the meringue and fold it with a rubber spatula. Gently deflate the meringue by pressing the bowl’s side and scoop from the bottom until the batter is smooth. Check for consistency and make sure the batter is made properly.
  • Put the perfect batter into the pastry bag and pipe it into circle baking sheets and let the batter sit on the sheets for about half an hour.
  • Keep the open at 300 F and bake for 15-20 minutes until the shells get hard. Remember to rotate the cookie sheets halfway through the baking. And take the biscuits out of the oven after the external is hard enough.


Making the filling is pretty easy. Just follow the simple two-step process given below:

  • Whip the butter until it is light and creamy enough. Add the rest of the ingredients to the butter and mix on low heat until it is combined properly. Now increase the speed to low and whip for some 3 minutes.
  • Now use a pastry bag to fill up the macarons with this mixture. Store the macarons in a fridge until it is cool enough to serve.
